Emotional Perception

My heart is often at war with my mind.

One tells me to feel.The other tells me to understand.One asks me to follow what lives within.The other reminds me of what exists beyond.

They say, follow your heart.

But where has it brought me?

I wonder if my feelings distort reality,or if it is my memories that distort what I see.Perhaps neither the heart nor the mind knows the whole truth.Perhaps they are simply looking at the same worldthrough different eyes.

It feels like an endless battle within myselfbetween what I feel and what I know.

In my own world, I listen only to my heart.There, my feelings become reality.Things I cannot reach in the real worldcan exist without limits within me.

But maybe that is the danger.

The heart is the soul from within,the place where everything I cannot say continues to live.

Perhaps it is buried too deep insideto see the world as it truly is.

And maybe that is why I keep wondering:

Should I trust what I feel,or what I see?
